51.2 x 49.3 cm page, hand-coloured copper engraving, with centerfold as issued, light paper toning, one old ugly brown hinge strip on bottom margin, not affecting plate, verso hinge remnants, cleaned; map from'Atlas de Geographie'. Prominently Australia is still shown without its Eastern land mass but with Tasman's discoveries. Japan and a large island named Terra Incognita are joined. Madagascar shown as Menuthias; different title text from the later edtions by Covens&Mortier and others.
